Based on 233 reviewsAl Grottino del Laziale is widely appreciated for its authentic Roman cuisine, with particular praise for its fresh, high-quality pasta dishes. The restaurant offers a cozy and unpretentious atmosphere, enhanced by decor featuring Lazio football memorabilia, which adds a unique local charm. While some mention the pricing, the general consensus is that it remains reasonable given the quality of food and ambiance. The combination of traditional dishes and a relaxed setting makes it a favored spot for both locals and visitors seeking genuine Roman flavors without pretense.
The absolute best pasta I ever had in my life (and I have had a lot of pasta). Some previous reviewers remarked upon the prices, but the prices are completely normal/reasonable. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is cozy. I wholeheartedly recommend it.
The walls in the tiny basement are filled with history of the restaurant and the football team of Lazio. Rough traditional Roman cuisine, no games, no fooling around. Worth the visit for Lazio fans (in case you haven't visited yet) and for those who wish to see "Something else".
This place was such a great find. So authentically Italian from the moment you step in. The wine was delicious and the pasta was absolutely superb. It may not be fancy but it was delicious. Highly recommend if you’re in the area!
Really special place for authentic experience. Fresh, quality and good food, especially pasta
Just the sort of place I like: unpretentious decor, easygoing service, and excellent traditional Roman cuisine. I had the gricia, which was great. The Lazio memorabilia on the walls are an interesting talking point (there is also a Tottenham Hotspur pennant hanging up, but if you choose the right table, you can't see it). I can't comment on prices, as my cousin paid, due to the fact my four-year-old (in what looked like a rehearsed routine, but honestly wasn't) said he was tired, started to cry and wanted to go home just before the bill arrived.
Great food, amazing atmosphere and cosy place. Especially when you are a Lazio fan Highly recommended
This place is amazing. Quaint, perfect Italian eatery-- you feel right at home! And by far the best pasta in the area. Price? I thought it was perfectly priced, especially for the amazing experience you have here.
